Plans in motion

Today's Meeting with Curtis lasted from 2-3PM and we were able to catch up (I had been to SLA in New Orleans last week and there was conference drama). One of the new presentation software I saw in use was from this site Prezi Maybe i can use that in the video... speaking of the video, I think i've found a good soundtrack from my favorite royalty free music site and now i also have the correct selection of images. I was working on that from 3-4. The plan is to get the "Day in the Life" video done this week before i leave for ALA and then look at creative ways to revive the "Lion's Roar" podcast. Right off the bat, i'm thinking more clips of live sound and music and a more versatile script. On July 23rd, Curtis and I will be hosting a SC State Library Summer School class called " Social Media on the GO!" that follows twitter, Gowalla and foursquare.

The count so far, 5hrs.

The full tour

Today Curtis gave me the full tour around the State Library (set in two different buildings). I was able to meet most of the staff, get a library card and even see the secret Sub Basement with old government docs and backissues. Always fun! The picture is of me sitting in my work station/area in the State Library Administrative Building (which has a few open spaces for intern work but this one has pelicans!). More on my video projects when i get home...

A state... i mean a start

Today i started my blog about my internship for the SC State Library under the head of communications, Curtis Rogers. Last week on Wednesday June 1st at 2PM I met with Curtis Rogers about my internship. We went over possible ideas, good reading material and ideas for the first video projects. Time to begin!
