Podcasting, i knew ye well.

Today is a day of new plans. From my talk with Rob Lindsey, web guru for the SCSL, last friday, i found out that there were only 22 subscribers for the "Lion's Roar" podcast. After a year of podcasts and effort to make this a news source for the SC State Library, there was only one response posted. Curtis and I chatted about who the audience really was and what we wanted to do with the podcasts. The consensus was that the podcasts were not a good enough medium for the information and the effort to market/retool the podcasts was not going to be time efficient or helpful. Curtis then mentioned wanting to keep the Lion's Roar momentum but use video based blogging instead. Earlier in this internship he had showed me "Tech Tuesdays" (see in list below). With the combination of a good (free?) screencasting tool and talking into the webcam, we have the goal for the evolution of the Lion's Roar. Curtis sent me in search of good library vlogs and beyond the ones that started in 2007/8 and only had a few videos, i was able to compile a good list of library youtubers as examples for our new project. Check out the list below:
